1962 volkswagen type 2 currently on bid in georgia, us
Finished in red over white vinyl, this refurbished 1962 Volkswagen Type 2 Double Cab Transporter was put on the market by Overland_Imports, a dealer in Georgia, US, with a current bid of over $20,000. The company supposedly repainted and restored the German car model in Brazil in 2021 before importing it to the US in February last year. It comes with its own Georgia registration, giving future owners the freedom to issue a title for it.
This Type 2 runs on a 1.7-liter flat-four and comes with the following features: fold-down bedsides, lotus white bumpers, a roof rack, a ceramic-coated exhaust system, a surfboard, front disc brakes, safari front windows, pop-out side windows, dual carburetors, engine tins, and dual chrome exterior mirrors paired with deluxe chrome trim. Moreover, its two-tone 15” wheels hold Continental Vanco tires with removable porta wall white-wall rings and a red accent matching the new car paint.

The interiors of the 1962 Volkswagen Type 2 sold by Overland_Imports include a black steering wheel that gently contrasts the white vinyl bench seats, door panels, and beige carpets. It’s also equipped with an ashtray, a cup holder, and a passenger grab handle.
‘The black steering wheel fronts a 160-km/h speedometer. The odometer was reset to zero during the refurbishment and now shows 35 kilometers (~22 miles). Total mileage is unknown. The displacement of the flat-four engine was reportedly increased to 1.7 liters during the refurbishment and it is equipped with dual EMPI carburetors and a ceramic-coated aftermarket exhaust system,’ writes the seller. Finally, a four-speed manual transaxle sends power to the rear wheels.
